BurstWizard

BurstWizard is a hands-free burst camera for iPhone and iPad. SuperComfySoft produces it. Set it down, tap once, and walk into the frame — it fires full-quality stills back-to-back until you stop it, or until the duration you set runs out.

It exists because iOS has no good answer to “photograph this group, and I am in it.” The self-timer gives one frame and one chance. Holding the shutter for a burst keeps a hand on the camera. A remote is another thing to own and another thing visible in the picture.

How it works

Prop it up. Frame the shot and tap to focus. Tap the shutter, and a countdown gives you time to get where you are going. The burst then runs until you stop it or until it stops itself.

Frames are written to your photo library as they arrive, not held until the end, and they are grouped as a single burst stack rather than scattered loose across the camera roll. Picking the good one is a job Photos already does well, so BurstWizard does not try to choose for you.

Three modes

Max

Every frame the device can actually deliver, as fast as it can deliver it. For the group photo — the most frames possible around the moment.

Paced

One frame every half-second to ten seconds. For children and animals, where the moment worth having is somewhere in the next minute rather than in the next three seconds.

Timed

Fire for a set duration, then stop and save without being told. Combines with either of the above, and removes the walk back.

Privacy

BurstWizard collects nothing. It has no accounts and no analytics. Frames never leave your device — the app has no network access. Photos go straight to your library and the app keeps no copy. Your settings are the only thing stored, and they are deleted with the app.
